Anybody else going to Gencon this year? I thought I would check and see. This will be my first year and I am really looking forward to it.

So I have not been doing many status updates here. I should do more but really a lot of that desire in me is filled with twitter. That said today was not wasted.

I did some house cleaning which needed doing. I also got out and hit the coffee shop to do some writing. I got about 3000 words done and finished chapter 7. The hero has had his moment and then barely escaped dying at the hands of a mysterious assassin.

I went to see Indy last night. People are going on about this film. Here is my read on it. Did it have a weak story with big holes in it? yes. Wss Indian Jones Indiana Jones? Yes. Did Shia LaBeouf suck? No. He actually was quite entertaining. Was Marion Ravenwood still pretty damn cool? Yep, she still kicks ass. Was there sufficient bad ass action? Yep. Did villains die horribly? Oh hell yeah. Did I get an Indian Jones film that was fun? Yep. I had fun. It was what it was supposed to be.

To those who say this was so terrible, I say go back and watch the first set of films. I guarantee you can plot holes in them as well and some ham handed decisions as well. We loved them when they came out because they were fun and hearkened back to the old two fisted stories of older and maybe less sophisticated times. This movie was every bit up to that goal. It is not as solid as the first film but definitely in the same territory as Temple of Doom and Last crusade.

oh well another report done.
