surprise possible job change.

So I did a surprise interview today. I applied for a learning specialist(read also trainer) at work and I was told about 3 minutes before my interview when I needed to be there. First interview went well. Friday I am putting my money where my mouth is. I am doing a 10 minute presentation on podcasting. It will use different media and will demonstrate I can teach.

so wish me luck on that.

I'm not wishing you luck. If it involves you and talking then the job is already yours, they just don't know it yet.

That has to be one of the best compliments I have ever gotten. Thanks.

Wonderful! You're a natural, but be prepared for them to act like absolute prats during your demonstration. One of the goals of that kind of interview is to see what you do when you get thrown off guard by something. I know you can do it. Keep me posted.

GMing for us crazy people should be good preparation. "I'm squirting ketchup in his face!"

Good luck! :)

Good luck, and what she said!

Remember to slow down (it's easy to get either nervous or over confident and zoom through stuff), to watch the people you're training (make eye contact and then move on to the next person, everyone should feel you're talking to *them*), never put too much on a powerpoint slide. Don't just read the slides. Be prepared to say "that's a good question but it would take too long to answer/it's not really covered in this course" or similar and then "let's take it off line and I'll discuss it with you afterwards" or similar.

Good luck again!

Thanks for the advise. I will try and keep those things in mind.
