No sh*t there i was......

I looked across the field. The first waive had attacked the Voldari garrison. The reserves had started to pepper the forces in the garrison with spells and arrows. We hoped to distract them from the main force. Our engineering team was already trying to build a second bridge for the spike moat.

That’s when the first waive broke some were cut down early but most fell in the moat as the rigged bridge was dropped. Our hardest hitters dropped on the spikes and I am torn on whether it is a blessing they did not die as they have a while to look forward to pain.

The back up bridge it appeared would be used after all. When rushed to complete it as our archers tried to keep the garrison busy. Rashad was finally useful it seemed as he organized the building of the bridge in short order. We completed the replacement and lifted it off the ground in mass.

The Voldari Legionairs shouted taunts at us we approached the moat. The taunts stopped as they saw what we had. They looked worried and I liked that. The bridge was dropped across and then the real chaos began. The voldai fire launched from the catapults flew again. And rained fire around us as those of us at the new front rushed. The dream mage next to me began making men fall asleep. Phill and I charged howling into the line. It was time to make an opening. Phil was a flurry of fists and smacked his way into three leginonaires and drove them to the left. I leap over one man as he falls and land on the right. The Voldari are not ready for the push to come so fast and hard. I take advantage of it spinning right towards a catapult with my swords slashing in and out around me as I go. I take a couple of people and damage it before the press of troops turning to deal with me finally drop me. Their mistake in that. We managed to open a whole in the line and the rest of the team charged in after us.

The following few minutes were confused. Someone sat and worked on me. I woke lying on my back with the sounds of the fighting in the barracks filling the air. I relaxed knowing that my portion of the fight was done and satisfied with the results. That’s when I heard the call from outside garrison.

The scout force had returned to attack us from the rear. I raised my head to look at the approaching line. All the wounded outside were going to be killed if that line was not stopped. The light footfalls of Blaize drew my attention. She ran past me and healed my wounds with out missing a step. I leaped up.

Ten of the townsfolk raced to meet the approaching line. We had to hold them as the rest of our forces organized an counter punch. We were out numbered. As the line crashed into us it stopped hard. We fought back and forth but they could not push past us. A shar caster kept trying to kill me. His black spells were narrowly dodged over and voer as I cut down a man. Finally we began to buckle. Blaize fell next to me. One of the went to finish her. I Slid a blade under the soildiers and drove it up and battered them back. This sacrifice move though cost me. Three more blades slid into me and I fell.

Later I woke as Darius brought me back from death. I looked around the field and saw the carnage we had wrought. Some poor trow girl knelt crying at all she had seen. That was the toughest and most epic fight I remember in my days as Brother Saul the mad monk.

That was such an awesome fight! I died my first death as Heather there. I was standing behind the front line, healing people as they started to drop so we wouldn't lose the time to have them drop to the ground. A row of Voldari stood in front of us. Just then, the line opened in front of me, the Voldari parted, and all I saw was Lee with a bow staring straight at me. I heard "Strike of Death!" and then felt the arrow hit my thigh. It felt like it took me about 10 minutes to react, because I was so stunned. All I could do was stare at my leg and think "I'm dead? Just like that?" Finally fell over. What a fight!

You rebel scum! :-D

I was, unfortunately, on the "bad guy" side of the fight so I didn't get to see much of the glory that was the Garrison Battle. Sounded great from my side of the tarp wall though.

This was my first field battle at SI. Great reminder!

I actually sat out this battle due to Lore's in-play political choices. I kind of wish I could have been a fly on the metaphorical wall (or at least NPCing) so I could have seen it.

This is the battle that got me hooked on SI. I'd played several times before...but this was the awesome one.
