grandpa

So my grandfather is in the hospital. I just read the email from mom on this.

"He was having back and abdominal pain Sunday afternoon/evening/night and finally went to the doctor on Monday morning. The doctor sent him straight to the hospital. Xrays showed an extremely enlarged stomach, the largest the surgeon had ever seen. The have drained it with a naso-gastric tube and are doing tests to see where the blockage is and decide what to do about it. He is also apparently passing blood in his urine. Since he is on blood thinners, this is not a good thing."

Those who pray, say one for him. Those who don't keep him in your thoughts if you will. He is is a tough old man but he is getting on in years and has had a lot of health problems over the past few years. I worry.

I'm sorry to read the bad news. I'm glad he's got family around him, and you have community around you. I'll be holding you and yours in my thoughts.

Spoke to him this afternoon, your time, and he sounds pretty good. He's on a full liquid diet, and they haven't really done a whole lot of tests yet. He has, of course, diagnosed himself and decided that the problem has taken care of itself. I wish I had his faith. He thinks that he won't be going home before Friday, at the earliest.

I work at Joanns fabrics now, and every Saturday, we get a lady in who buys 3 yards of fleece to make a prayer blanket, and her congregation makes them after church Sunday and pray while tying each knot. I'll ask her to pray for you and your grandfather, 'cause I figure a whole congregation is better than just me.
