Essential addition... a small solar panel array (shouldn't take many) and a marine deep cycle battery.

interestingly one possible solution to my having problems with camping events with my "machine" is a marine battery and special ac adapter.

I'd forgotten about your machine issues. Yes, a marine battery and some sort of charging solution just might do the trick.
