Here goes!
The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you. (if you want)

what's your age/dob? I guess I really never asked :( I'm sorry!!

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

it has been explained to me that thirty is the age of dirt. If you are over thirty then you are older than dirt.

From: [identity profile] angelash-ga.livejournal.com

Younger than my hubby! So while you are older than dirt, he was around with the dinosaurs!

Is there any sport you have ever liked to participate in? What sport would you like to participate in?

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

I was on the wrestling team for a while. I kind of liked the physicality of it. I liked the feeling of power as well. I could guide people where I wanted to no matter how strong they were.

If I could do a sport again, it would not be a sport persay. But I would like to learn the martial arts. I have had passing encounters with Tae kwo do, judo, tia chi, even a little boxing. I have never actually made a dedicated study of an art. Sadly I dont seem to have money or time these days.

Hmm - I might be able to hook you up once the dojo is built. heh. I know teaching again is very likely for biff_rocko.

!! Cool!! :D

Keep me in mind too! (Though I might have to wear shoes - I recently learned that a lot of my problems with forms and balance when I tried years back was that I've got a fairly significant leg length diff.

So how do you feel about television? Are you indifferent? Do you think it's evil? Do you care about it as a medium one way or another?

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

Television is a medium by which both art and drek can be delivered. I am iritated at the ammount of crap get produced. I hate reality shows with a passion. But it can deliver some good stuff. Battlestar Galactica is art and I defy someone to say it isn't. I use to watch a lot of public television.

My opinion is as follows I guess.

Television like any thing is a matter of content. If the content is beautiful I will go out of my way to enjoy it. If it is crap...well i have better things to do with my time and energy.

Were you previously familiar with how to shoot a bow before SI, or was this a new undiscovered skill? :-)

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

I think I did it for all of 20 minutes at a sumer camp when I was 12. Thats about it. Never done it before larping.

From: [identity profile] pipistrella.livejournal.com

How come you're not sitting in a dark smoky club somewhere singing the blues?

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

have you heard me sing? that would be explination enough. Seriously I dont sound good. Also I am little to introverted for that sort of thing.

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

Partly because of saul, who you never met really.

And partly from my interesting life at the time. did you know i did a ten year stint celibate and with out touching a drop of liquor. I picked the name up back during that time. I am not as I always was.

I think you're one of the most chivalrous people I know. Who taught you to be the gentleman you are? Who taught you to be the scoundrel that you can sometimes be? Did you ever have a particular role model during any part of your life?

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

I learned manners from my grandmother. From my father I learned that there was a difference between the way the world is and how it shoould be. I am a cynical idealist. I know the rest of the world is not gentle so I am. I know it is not kind or thoughtful so I make sure I am. I try(not always succeeding mind you) to be the person, in behavior at least, that I believe people should be. AS to being a scoundrel, well occassionally I have to let the villain out. I have this sence of humor and always have. I suppose my mom was the source of that. Beyond that well i try to be a good man. This does not I am always good.

As to role models I wanted to be Humphrey Bogart from all the old movies i saw him in. He was the idea of cool I always had. Beyond him I got alot from lots of different people.

Guess this meme has been modified - the original asked respondents to say something they thought they knew and then ask a question they thought they didn't know. ;)

Aside from the fact that you play KG, have some old fashioned ideals and like to write, there's not a lot that I know about you. For one, how did you get started in KG?

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

That one is easy. I played SI and nero for years. When Laurie told me about the game one day I knew I wanted to play so I have since the begining.

Terry Pratchett, David Webber, Niel Gaimen, James P Hogan, Cherie Preist, Larry Niven, Arthur C Clark, Robert Hienlien, Frank Herbert, Harper Lee, Michael A. Stackpole, Robert E Howard, Karl Wagner, Ann Rice(well a lot of the time anyway), kevin anderson, Neil Stephenson, William Gibson, Raymond Chandler....umm more but those are the ones I think of off the top of my head. I like good adventure fiction. I also like a good book to make me think.

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

his scifi Though I hear good things on his fantasy so May pick it up at some point.

From: [identity profile] outlawcoon.livejournal.com

I actually /hadn't/ heard good things about his sci-fi. :) I've read a lot of his fantasy. Both Dark Glory War and Talion are excellent.

From: [identity profile] technoir.livejournal.com

His Star Wars stuff is classic style adventure Scifi like 50's serials. alot of good good reads for just the fun of it. Not going to win a pulitzer, but a good heroes are cool and villains are cool adventure fiction.
