The term bone jarring gets bandied about in fiction alot. occassionaly I get the meaning of the term better than others. My entire back, neck and right side for that matter hurt. I slipped on the grassy slope in front of my apartment. This is made worse by the fact i was around 8 ft from a set of stairs i could have taken instead.

Ow.

I slipped on a slick walkway when I was young and bruised my tailbone.
So yea, doesn't feel very nice. LOL

I use to do that alot in the winter when I lived there. Learned to take the stairs instead when possible.
