Okay kids. I am a fan of audio drama as you are aware. Old radio shows are great and the new medium of podcasting has caused its rebirth. Now there are some original works out there. The Falcon Banner by Darker Project and Black Jack Justice by Decoder Ring theater are two pretty good ones I listen to often. I recomend them to everyone who might be interested in full audio produced dramas.

Lately I have taken to listen to some fan productions though. This is like fan fic but done as radio plays. There is as with all things variable quality. One that have been inpressed with is Pendant Productions. They have a batman, wonder woman, and superman shows for the comic book end. And a star trek and indiana jones shows as well. All of which have full casts and sound effects and are pretty well done. Add in the writing is pretty solid and I have really liked them. They also have open casting calls. I am going to try out for a character on the Batman production.

this is the audition note:

MISTER ZSASZ - Adult male.
This Arkham Asylum escapee kills indiscriminately, etching a line into
his flesh every time he takes a life. You may remember him from his
brief appearance in Batman Begins. Not a nice fellow at all. In love
with the sound of his own voice.

They actually try and relate things to events in the comics but dont seem to be writing them up to date. For instance they referrence Hush but they dont referrence Infinity Crisis or one year after story lines. Anyways thought I would share with all my pals.

Question. How many of you even listen to podcasts? I know some listen to mine(which makes me happy everytime). I was interested to see if anyone listens to any other podcasts.

I'm afraid I'm more of the traditional Bob and Ray type.

I think there great, but I admit I rarely listen to many of them.

Out of curiosity are their other roles available?

They post them from time to time. Right now thats the only one up but they did say there was a new one opening up on their original production about a 1940's super pilot squadron serial.

As I am technology impared I must ask. Where/how can I listen to your pod-cast? Is it something I have to tune into at a certin time or can I just download it at home.

Podcasts unlike a streaming audio or radio are not time dependent. You download them. They are designed to be essentially a mp3 distibuted by whats called RSS or Real Simple Syndication. That means a service that is on a websie that regularly tells programs designed to read the info that the website has been recently updated with new information. Originally RSS was used to note when say a blog was updated or a news site has anew story. But it can be used to deliver the files attached are like a mp3. This may have been more information than you were asking for. You can download them or play them from the site or you can go into iTunes and subscribe to them for free. The reason they were called podcasts was do to most folks using a iPod to listen to them but it is in no way required to listen to them on a seperate player. You can listen to them on the computer.

So the short answer is go to iTunes and look you up?

Or are you on a different website? Different name?

As a Sci-Fi fan and Trekkie. I listen to lots of podcasts as many visual interpretations are not as I would imagine them. I have yet to listen to Falcon Banner, but I do listen To Star Trek Section 31 Files Which is also done by Darker Projects. I have also Listened to its Sister Show done my Pendant Audio Star Trek: Defiant. I have read the synopsis to Falcon Banner and think it sounds good I will have to give it a listen
As a listener to your podcast IMHO I think you would do great! I hope if you decide to audition that It goes well for you.

Now If I may ask you, What podcast software do you recommend for downloading your podcasts? I have a Ipod clone and have used PodSpider and Happy Fish. PodSpider is ok, but I was looking for something with a better synchronization interface. I download a couple of news/business podcasts daily and want to only carry like the last 3 days on my player, but I haven't found any good software that will delete the old ones and refresh me with the new automatically. Any suggestions?

sadly iTunes is still probably the best I have seen though I do like Juice as well. http://www.podcastready.com/ also maybe a good fit for you synchonizing things. It is an online site which has an assosciated software to dowload that also loads a synchonizer into your mp.3 player.
