I don't feel like creating an account anywhere else, so i'll just post this here...

I've played in an all-rogue game before. The problem that I saw was that, while we weren't *exactly* the same, we were similar enough that it was difficult to really feel special. In a traditional game, the rogue is typically the one who gets to do the stealth work, but if everyone can do it, you don't really have a unique role in the party.

A game based on a single class also greatly increases the difference between a person who knows how to build a character well and one who doesn't. The party cleric may be built well and the party rogue may not be, but the cleric just isn't going to do any sneaking around and the rogue isn't going to be throwing down divine punishment; everyone retains their own unique roles. If you go with all one class, well built characters dominate even more than they otherwise would, because they are probably going to be outright superior, few-to-no questions asked. Some people may care more or less about this, but I think very few people don't care at all. I believe most people would just be disappointed to see that they constantly are outdone (especially in their primary focus) by someone else.

The above may be partially mitigated in certain circumstances -- primarily with Sorcerers, since they can have radically different spells yet still be effective. You could also have the PCs work very closely with each other so that they could make sure and differentiate themselves as much as possible, but there's only so much room to maneuver within one class.

I think a concept game based on race would work better. A party of warforged shares some traits, but they can very easily distinguish themselves by class so everyone can throw in their own unique contributions to the party.
