Babylon 5,
Babylon 5 in many ways was one of the best and worst scifi shows on tv. It was an overarching plotline from the beginning with both epic and small stories interspersed. It suffered from rather pedestrian cinematography and occasionally the acting or script writing would fail the epic level stories being told, but overall it was an excellent show and easily one of my favorites even now.
Chinese myths,
Chinese myths have always fascinated me. Something about the convoluted and cluttered nature of Chinese myths appeal to me. Also the titles. You got to love a leader god called “the august personage of Jade”.
cyberpunk,
Is it really so surprising I love cyberpunk as a genre? At least one of my faves and has been since the late 80’s. Part of my liking it has do with it being believable. This is not the future of star trek. Its about the people who live on the edge. It is about what is really the definition of man when you can change every aspect of his form and project it into a nowhere space like cyberspace. I enjoy its dark reflection of todays society.
forgotten realms,
So I have friends who are not fans of this setting. To me it is a perfect example of a generic fantasy setting for D&D. I may play a lot of Eberron and I do think it is a better setting but Forgotten Realms is still very interesting.
justice league,
In particular this is relating to the Cartoon Network series. The series and the related shows was perhaps the best examples of the dc universe ever. It was well written and preserved the iconic value of the characters. It simply proved that you can do a good well written superhero cartoon.
ninjas,
Dude, they are ninjas. If I am not interested in them they might kill me. Also on a few occassions I have been accused of being one.
william gibson
One of the best SciFi writers of the 20th century. I really love his books. Some writers tell a good story. Some writers master the language used in the story. He is both. If you have not read his works like Neuromancer or Virtual Light you really should.
