So I grew up reading comics. Big surprise right. I grew up reading Marvle specifically. I read some batman and superman mind you but my heart belonged to Marvel. I read Iron Man and watched him deal with alcoholism. I read Spiderman and learned the heart of my favorite heroes were essentially the same as you and me. Take Peter Parkers powers and he is a bright and somewhat nerdy guy. The Hulk is all about the duality of man, the Mr. Hyde hidden in all men. Captain America is the old ideal of what heroes are and is walking in the everyday is gray world we know to well. The Xmen are the outsiders. They are the blacks, jews, wiccans, gays, communists, and the geeks reading the comics all in one.

I learned lessons from these comics. I learned vocabulary from these comics. I learned to love art and story from these comics. All of this tracing back to our affor mentioned Stan Lee. He created these comics we grew up with. Whats more he is the one who went on to tell us it is cool to be a comics fan.He was the face and voice to comics. He was in a word my hero.

In the presidential race to come let us look to find great men to lead us through the morass we are in. Lets give a shot to the man who gave us "with great power comes great responsability!"

Elect Stan Lee president in 2004.
Excelsior!!
