I am at work today, as is the rest of the UK ... even though I keep telling people that today is English "Thanksgiving Day" ... the day we give thanks that we managed to cut you lot loose before you could elect George W. Bush :-)
Only usually :-) ... sometimes it means we're the comic relief, the servant, the ship's captain or, very occasionally, James Bond/007 [1]
Though I notice that in films like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, to show that Robin is the good guy they cast Kevin Costner (with an American accent)
[1] Famous actors that have played James Bond: Barry Nelson - American Sean Connery - Scottish George Lazenby - Australian Roger Moore - English Timothy Dalton - Welsh Pierce Brosnan - Irish Daniel Craig - English (and from the original Casino Royale: English, English, Northern Irish, Swiss, Palestinian and American!)
So I'd argue that James Bond is at the very least British, and quite possibly at least British Empire :-)
