This is definitely one of those instances where I'm not 100% I'm buying into the fun, primarily because I have no idea how Fairey feels about this site. I'll just stand back and let people enjoy, but just a word to the wise that I have no idea how legal it is. (I went to RISD with and know the artist who originally conceived the Obama silkscreen images. He's the same person who is responsible for the "OBEY" campaign of the late '90s featuring Andre the Giant)

It'd be cool though, if he sanctioned it, because it's pretty nifty overall. :)

Well a style of art strictly speaking is not copyrightable, but I can see your point. The site doing this does include a link to the Shepard Fairey's work.

Of course, the way he distributed his work early on, I bet this sort of thing is right up his alley.

yeah i looked at his site and he hasn't said anything as of yet, but it has been operating for only a few days now so he may not have heard. I tend to agree from what little I have seen of his work.
