The night of scifi was fun. Star gate was a stumble start, but i am willing to give it a bit of time to fully get up to steam before i determine train wreck. Ben Bowder was doing his sence of humor from Farscape but with less brooding. Claudia Black on the other hand was howlingly funny at times. Beau Bridges should be fun to watch. He is not another Hammond.

Stargate Atlantis. Nice visuals not certain I liked the story. REally not certain I like where the whole thing with ford is going. Mitch Pileggi gave a good performance of a proper military officer. Hope to see the show do well.

Battlestar Galactica is just always neat. This was a good episode. I think the season one opener was stronger but not bad at all. They need to clean the seperate threads up a bit just to get some of the tightness back. I have heard people try and compare this show to the original. This is not a good way to look at it. While they have basic story elements in common(refuge humans, cylons) the feels of the shows are radically different. Also to be perfectly honest and tossing nostalga out the window. The writing on the original was hardly the best. It was cheesball through and though.

I thought Ben Browder was fine, and will do decently. If the entire show doesn't crash in flames, which I suspect it will.

I know everyone likes Claudia. But...ugh, she just reminds me of "Hey, look at my boobs" girl at (insert LARP here). And it's just not that kind of show, you know? It used to be classy. :-(

And I hate Daniel's face mange. Uggghhh.

No explanation of what happened to Jack. I have a pretty good idea, but they didn't say! LAME!

Ford: he's going *away* which is what counts. I couldn't stand that character. He was a total waste of space. At least he was slightly more interesting in this one. Which is 1000x better than he was previously.

I think Claudia works because it is a break from the norm.if she were going to be in every episode and like that all the time I would agree, but my unstanding is she is jus guesting in some episodes which as a break is fine. The beard did not look right this is true. I think they will do the slow reveal on jack. I kind of likd ford befor in first season because he was occassionally the ordinary guy. it is nice to have the common man around.

The original Galactica was a children's show, or at least one you coudl safely watch with the kids. I liked it when I was a kid. The new one is much darker, and it's really good!

I really don't know what to think of it. I am intrigued by the hint of a new direction as well as a somewhat pulp start with the relationship between face mange and corset whore along with a treasure search. I have to admit I am not fond of the departure of parts of the team and the way the writers are handling it does not seem plausible. A lot of times I kept thinking, maybe the team is in trouble and this is all some kind of crazy conspiracy. please god, let it be a conspiracy.

The look on Tilk's face after blasting the chamber door and the richotets, that was classic.
