My resolutions in this year of the dog is the following.

1)Write for at least 20 minutes every day. even if it is just poems or charicter histories or in play letters i will write something. Every day I am able to get to a computer or a pen and paper I will write something.

edit: also actually finish a story.
2) work on getting my weight down and my energy up.

Excellent resolutions. I'm with you on the getting the weight down. Mine has reached unacceptable levels. I also need to get a grip on my finances this year. And a proper day job. Working these varied hours is wrecking my body.

good plan there. Lets hope we both have luck in keeping to things.

Cool. I'm with you on the resolution to practice my art every day. I'm also going to try to get a better handle on my fibromyalgia/depression symptoms, which have contributed alot to me slacking off on art and sewing.

I figure 20 minutes a day is really hard for me to justify why I did not do it.

Having beaten back my fibromyalgia sympoms, aside from occasional flare-ups, I'll ask if you sleep ok. I was on an allergy medication that was really fouling up my sleep (it contained sudoephedrine (sp?) which is a speed derivitive). I had a whole host of other factors that were making me feel like crap and contributed to symptoms including:

- leg length difference (I have to have all my right shoes that I wear regularly adjusted by 10mm - HUGE difference once I adjusted - oddly, seemed to help my immune system too)
- deficient in the amino acids required to build and maintain muscles
- poor diet (too much sugar and refined carbohydrates - white food is bad for me) - figuring this out helped me lose 60 pounds, get my allergies under control and, of course, helped me feel better both physically and emotionally
- lack of proper exercise (if you can try 'functional integrated training', I highly recommend it as it is healthy for your (aching) joints and works so many muscle groups simultaneously - the way we were designed to move - which makes for a far more efficient workout)

I still need a monthly massage to keep things in check and keep trigger points at bay but I have a mostly normal life now.

Good luck! *hugs*

On writing...

Thanks to my bizarro work schedule, I've developed the habit of doing some stream of consciousness writing when I first wake up. I sometimes dream of things I'm currently working on, and this habit sometimes helps kick writer's blocks out of my head.

Of course, reading them later also sometimes makes me wonder if someone had slipped something into my cocoa before bed...*)

I agree on the art. I need to do the same - I made one video last year and have been stalling out of fear of meeting expectations. I just need to focus on enjoying it and do it. :)

If I can help by sharing my experiences in losing weight (I lost 60 pounds) and getting stronger/healthier to your benefit, I would be happy to do so.

Good luck!! *hugs*
