This sparked a discussion with a co-worker, who believes that:
"Skeletor was just in denial. I don't think He-Man ever had any doubts. But he did try to butch up with his name."
To which I maintained:
"That is true, but we have to remember that He-Man was forced to live a double life. In his political role as prince he felt he had to protect his public image, but as He-Man he was free to express himself."
