I had a bit of a case of writers block last night, well thats not quite right. More a case of writer slow down. I had a hard time making ideas come out. as a result my podcast will be a little late. I will work on it some more tonight. I should get all the stories writen and maybe record and put it up either tonight or saturday. I need to just write a story a day from now on. They are not that long after all.

Now I also need to get a good recording device somewhere for my special effects I want to add and the "interview" I want to do. Hmm fun fun.

now to work.

Too bad you don't have a newer Mac, there's the new iLife (GarageBand, I think) - http://www.apple.com/ilife

It has sound effects and easy ways to record podcasts.

I use audacity for my actual recording and editing. It is free and works well. No I wanted record some gun fire to use as backgrond in one of my podcasts. And my inter view I need a different sound than the one my mike makes in studio.

Actually, I was going to ask you about that. Podcasting seems like the best media for the revival of radio drama, and particularly radio spec fiction, and I was wondering how much bother the actual production side of it would be.

I am looking to write some short form episodic fiction in a technomagical world, and I think that podcasting, with access to a good group of actors in my area, would be ideal. [livejournal.com profile] divaalmaviva and myself are looking to take the story we are working on in that general direction, and I want to do it for the fun of it, really.

well actually there is alot of work in this area.

There are a number of radio drama's going out there on podcast. Earthcore is one which was very popular. I am currently listening to Children Of The Gods and Star Trek:PIoneer. Both of these are audio dramas. Look up also Podiobooks. Also if you like the actuall old fashion ones check out Spaceship radio podcast as they replay old x-1 radio shows featuring stories by bradbury, heinlien, and other greats of sf in the 1950's. I too find the notion of doing radio drama compelling and would like to do that as well.

I would love to be an interviewee... we could do it over the phone to get that authentic transgalactic poor reception. ;)

maybe but not on the phone. It is a pain in the ass to record.
