So I got my eyes for checked this year. It turns out my prescription is getting better. Not sure how that works but I dropped from -2.0 in both eyes to -1.75 in both eyes. I also picked up a slight astigmatism. The optometrist thinks I am right in thinking I have been wearing contacts too much. I need to get some glasses so I ordered some today. I have not worn any in like 4 years so this should be interesting to get back in the swing of things.

40+ years from now I can yell at demons rising from the abyss on judgement day yelling, "You shall not pass!"

I had the same thing this year. I had been wearing contacts forever and finally had to change back to glasses this year. I'm thinking of getting lasik. Wearing glasses stinks.

And if you have eye problems (dry eye in particular -- it's one reason i'm holding off) it can have permanent side effects. It also tends to produce 20/40 as opposed to 20/20. I can't personally stand to have anything less than 20/20, myself.

Yeah, it is expensive. If I do it, I'll finance it; most places have payment plans and stuff.

My eyes got way too dry in contacts, and I started having tear duct infections, so I had to stop wearing the contacts.

Did the astigmatism come from the contacts? Or did you develop some other problem from them?

my eyes are not getting enough air. I have had 4 cases of pinkeye in the past two years. These are the primary reasons. The astigmatism just started. The doc suggested I should blame it on his wife. Thats who he blames his on.

I'm hoping I can continue to wear contacts for a long time (4 years so far). I've developed dry eye, but fortunately I can still tolerate them with my punctal plugs.

I will still wear contacts at events and other events wear i will want peripheral vision and not have something that could be knocked off my head. I am just not wearing them every day like I was.

You suck. My vision is -9.0 in both eyes. The doctor is afraid to contemplate LASIK on me.
