note: Working out at the gym is good. Doing elyptical cross trainer is also good, but doing it to the point my legs hurt some much two days later that I don't want to go work out...not so much a good thing.

Muscle Soreness

I've found that with muscle soreness it makes me feel better to do an easygoing, light workout rather than doing nothing at all. I tend to focus more on stretching and walking and very easy intensity stuff of the same thing that made my muscles sore in the first place (and by easy, I mean *easy* -- same motion, no weight kind of thing). For me at least this eases up a lot of the tension caused by muscle soreness or stiffness, and it keeps me in the habit of working out. And since for me working out is a big staying-calm, clear-the-mind kind of time, it's as important for me to take the time as it is to work out.

YMMV, though, and I certainly don't want you hurting! Whatever works for you is what works!

Re: Muscle Soreness

Ding! That's exactly the right thing to do :) Stretching and easy movements of the same variety help promote healing. Epson salt baths, arnica gel, and lots of water also help ease the hurting, as does advil.

Heh. In between borrowing a 50 lb chainmail shirt for my next character and inspiration from reading your travails, I've decided to try and drop some weight and get in better shape for the game next month. Congrats, man. You're a motivator.
