I have had a pain from my shoulder to my neck for the past few days. It may be that i slept wrong. Any way you cut it though it comes and goes and is really annoying. It almost broken bone level pain if I pull wrong.

I have not broken a bone though.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I have neck/back pain off and on that feels like a long muscle is tight or spasming. I find that rearranging my pillows can sometimes help prevent it, but once it starts it usually takes a few days to go away. Warmth is almost always good. The thing I found that helps the most with mine is to move it a lot. And of course that hurts. But if I start out slow and stretch it out, then move more vigorously, it seems to loosen things up and helps the pain go away faster. I think most of it comes from not being active enough, in my case.

(Hm, I wonder if that's what breaking a bone feels like. I've never done that.)

alternating heat and cold usually works for muscle tension like that. Be gentle with it and don't try to stretch it too much all at once. It'll probably take awhile to subside.
